Introductions-      15 members attended; 1 support member; two guests     

Riding Practice Report – Amy was unable to attend however she will be holding a riding practice Saturday, January 27, 2007.  Meet at 10 a.m. at Starbucks, 4311 Town Center Boulevard, El Dorado Hills.  Have full tanks of gasoline, snacks & water, and dress appropriately for the weather, please.  There will be a brief discussion, with handouts, and then ride Latrobe Road, concentrating mainly on curves.  We will stop at each end to have a group discussion, then, ride Latrobe Road again, improving our skills each time!

Safety – Sue Childress provided a group riding overview including a hand out from the back page of the rider coach CMSF handbook on hand signals.

Activity Report – Sue N. will e-mail the activity schedule and will include the GCR monthly ride details.

Old Business -   5th Motorcycle Maintenance and Pizza Festival - We had 21 people in attendance at this very fun and informative technical/maintenance training day!  Ross Mullins and Henry Mini, our resident motorcycle mechanical experts provided handouts, demonstrations, and once again made learning about our bikes simple and entertaining.  The bike pickup was a hit!  A special thank you to Sue N., CMSF Instructor-Coach who provided the dropped bike demonstration.  Throttlewear in Folsom, one of our sponsors hosted GCR’s for donuts and coffee and an hour of shopping prior to the Tech Day.  Max was an awesome host, and wowed us with a homemade apple pie.  Strong raffle ticket sales resulted in a slush fund of $226.00!  Raffle Prize winners:  Fieldsheer jacket- Melinda; Harley shirt- Maggy: Go Moto Shirt- Darlene; Women’s Breast Cancer sponsor cap- Janet B.; Yamaha Gloves- Noni; Experienced Rider Certificates: Janet D. and Dee Dee; Tool Kit; Noni   The excellent pizza from Dominicks was supplemented by salads from Maggy and Jeanie.  Melinda provided a third heater so even though Sacramento was experiencing record cold; Max’s garage was warm and toasty!

New Business

Introduction of New Sponsor- Norm Arfsten, sales and finance from Carmichael Honda Motorsports attended the meeting, and provided some information about Carmichael Honda Motorsports and their full line of motorcycles.  Carmichael Honda Motorsports donated a new red and black Fieldsheer jacket to the group.  Come to the February meeting to see how to win it!  They will offer GCR members a discount on the purchase of new bikes.  Check it out!  

February Monthly Ride- The ride date is February 10, 2007.  Dee Dee will coordinate this ride, starting at Carmichael Honda Motorsports; 7829 Fair Oaks Boulevard.  See the website for more details.  Because of the winter hours, this ride will be shorter, but will still involve eating lunch and socializing as well as supporting beginner riders. Come show support for our newest sponsor.      

January Ride- Susie (proud owner of a new Yamaha FJR 1300) has volunteered to lead a ride January 28, 2007.  Details to be posted on the our members e-mail.  This is a “bonus” ride this month; thank you Susie!    

Sponsor Plaques- It was discussed and decided to update the A&S plaque and to purchase a new plaque for Throttlewear. 

GCR Website Directory- Karey and Susie have done an awesome job of adding a pictorial directory to the GCR website.  Members were encouraged to complete the suggested information form and include a picture.  Susie will e-mail the form and directions out again.  For security purposes, only first names and month/date of birth will be included. 

A&S BMW Open House- A&S is going to feature women riders at their March 31st (please note revised date) open house in Roseville.  Janet D. can provide more details or check the website for updates.  This will be a great opportunity to recruit new members as well as a really fun day.  We will have additional discussion and planning at the February 20, 2007 meeting.   

Experienced Rider Group Class- Two coupons for the Experienced Rider Class were raffled off at the Motorcycle Tech Day.    Sue C. offered to arrange for a group to participate in this class to be held March 24 or 25th.  Class size is limited, however a discount group rate will be offered if we fill the class.  Update: the Saturday March 24th class is full, but there is still room in the March 25th class.  Contact Sue.  

Ride Leader Checklist – Jeanie asked for volunteers to review a draft of the ride leader checklist and provide feedback to her by the next meeting.  When completed this document will be posted on the website so ride leaders have a reference point to use for leading rides.  Thanks to Karey Hart for putting together a great draft.  

GCR Hats- Jeanie is interested in getting the GCR club patch that we recently acquired embroidered on hats and will find out what the costs will be. Patches are still available for $1.55 each.  Contact Dee Dee.    

GCR Spring Fling Weekend Ride- Ride planners are Karey and Sue N.  The destination will be along the coast (probably Mendocino County) May 19-21 and will feature camping or hotel.

WOW Annual Ride-In- The destination this year is Springfield Missouri, July 3-5.  Janet B. and A.J. will provide a “back-roads” route at the February meeting.   

Four Corners Ride- Janet B. and Noni are planning an 8900 mile, four corners ride of the United States this summer.  Contact them if you are interested in going. 

CMSF Group riding Video- Karey encouraged members to check out this website and view the group riding video on line.  There is a wealth of information on the website. 

GCR Treasurer – While we have funds, Dee Dee will be the keeper of the funds and maintain a record of expenditures.  Thank you!
